Waterproof Casting Supplies That Differentiate Your Practice

Patient expectations around orthopedic immobilization have changed. More patients are asking their surgeons and urgent care providers specifically for a waterproof cast — and practices that offer FlexiOH are capturing those patients while improving satisfaction scores and reducing cast-related callbacks.

FlexiOH is an orthopedic casting system that combines true 100% waterproof capability, an open-lattice design with 46% exposed skin area, light-cured polymer immobilization, and a zipper closure that eliminates the cast saw entirely. The result is a different patient experience — and a different application workflow for your clinical team.

    • Application and curing typically take 3–10 minutes, depending on size
    • No cast saw required — zipper closure reduces patient anxiety and staff time
    • Radiolucent — X-rays without cast removal, saving appointment time
    • Waterproof design for bathing when clinically appropriate
    • Ask your treating clinician about skin sensitivity and whether FlexiOH is suitable for you. Product documentation and application guidance are available on request; skin irritation or concerns should be discussed with your clinician.
    • 8 configurations covering all major upper and lower extremity indications
    • Available in multiple sizes for pediatric and adult patients

Published Clinical Evidence — For Your Patients and Your Referrers

A prospective, multicentric, open-label clinical study published in the Journal of Medical Sciences and Health (2024) monitored the safety and performance of the FlexiOH Short Arm Immobilizer in patients with distal radius fractures. The study reported fracture healing in the evaluated group at the third follow-up, confirmed by X-ray. The study also documented decreased pain medication requirements over the treatment course and confirmed the cast’s radiolucency and biocompatibility. This is peer-reviewed evidence you can share with patients, referring physicians, and hospital credentialing committees.

    Patient Satisfaction ROI

Practices that offer FlexiOH report measurable improvements in patient satisfaction scores, reduced cast-related callbacks, and increased referrals from patients who specifically request waterproof casts. Differentiate your practice from competitors still using traditional fiberglass.

Product and study context: A 2024 open-label study evaluated the FlexiOH Short Arm Immobilizer in 137 adults aged 18–80 with distal-radius fractures. The authors reported healing at the third follow-up. This was not a controlled comparison of healing speed, and its findings do not establish pediatric outcomes or guarantee an individual result. Healing time is not shortened by choosing a waterproof cast. Application and curing vary by size. Read the adult wrist study and the manufacturer’s guidance.
